When I hear the word "small brand" I'm automatically prepared to spend more for a cute top than I would at a large department store, and for good reason. Most of these independent designers have built their business from the ground up with long hours committed to shipping, customer service, advertisement, and obviously the art itself; trial and error designs that cost tremendous amounts of $$$ to begin again, and not to mention the stress! These designers devote their entire lives to executing their dreams to perfection while having a million other responsibilities. So when they ask for twice as much for a two piece set than the fast fashion giants that'll rip off their year long project in three weeks, I don't mind at all. The value is far greater--its so much more than a garment when you can admire the origin stories of an artist. So when the holidays come around and some of my favorites are kind enough to offer their work at discounted prices? Well of course I'm going to indulge in the opportunity. (And I won't tell if you do too!)
But we have to learn when to call a spade a spade and some of these "sales" are anything but. Offering 15% off or free shipping or some "select" items that are just their lowest selling products can be saved for some random week in July but this is BLACK FRIDAY we're talking about. Unless it's at least 40% off site wide, I personally think they can keep it. These brands here are doing it the right way while delivering quality work, so read along to get some of the hottest deals of the year:

1. Sublime Havoc
For the sexies who don't have time to talk too long. Pieces from Sublime Havoc give you so much power, as soon as I see someone in a piece from them I know they plan to absolutely murder wherever they're headed. Notable for their edgy and sleek designs combined with high quality fabric, this Black woman owned brand is definitely worth the price tag that could run as high as $600 for the Moto-Style Ribbed Trousers. But if that's enough to make you weak in the knees you're in luck for a few hours.

Until 11/26 at midnight this brand is offering 40% site wide with the code: BLACKFRIDAY22. My personal pick would be the Peek Wax Denim that are less than $150 after code application at checkout. For quality wax this is worth every wear!

2. The Ekhator Label
Yes, I've mentioned this brand in my Spring Shoe Must Haves before but believe me, it's just that good. Have you ever seen a designer who's mind you'd just want to explore for entertainment purposes if it were possible? That's exactly how I feel about the beautiful mind behind this brand. From the head turning Zoraobi heel to the fun and sexy fur mules or the staple piece Lottie Basket that makes the brand notable from any other, there are plenty of reasons to lust over an Ekhator item. With shoes that make your feet look like two little pieces of art there's no surprise that these pieces are starting at upward of $200.

But the owner has been nice enough to offer site wide 50% (yes, two shoes for the price of one!) with the code: BLKFRI22 alllllll the way until Thursday the 1st. Insane. My personal pick would be the Zoraobi heel in silver to elevate even the most casual dress to a perfect Cinderella moment in amazing comfort.

3. TWILEYTM
When I think of the original IT girls of independent brands, I instantly think TWILEYTM of course! If you've never seen one of brand owner, Teanna's viral photos surrounded by hundreds of packages shipping all over the world, you may have been living under a rock for a few years, but that's okay! Offering some of the most fun and vibrant prints in the industry complete with the world's sexiest silhouettes, it's no wonder the girls are willing to drop hundreds on a dress or two piece set for their big day. The brains behind TWILEYTM know the insane demand for one of their looks by people of all tax brackets and offer generous sales a few times of year because of it.

However, those sales are nothing compared to this Black Friday one that allows you to take 45% site wide without even worrying about a code. We love a woman who minimizes the work on our end! My personal pick from this brand would be the Chandelier Lux set that's perfect for that "all eyes on me" moment we all dream of having at least once or twice.

4. Melissa Simone Swim
Who says we shouldn't be thinking about the beach the day after Thanksgiving? And from a mind like Melissa Simone you'll be sure to daydream about it without a vacation in sight. With vibrant prints and swim that never loses its structure no matter how many oceans or chlorine pools you wear it in, these pieces have every right to be the price of a dinner for two at Ruth's Chris. But you'll have a lot more fun being held like a glove in the LUNA monokini than eating an overpriced steak. The beauty of Melissa Simone is the simplicity that comes out of loads of hard work--while everyone dares to be different, they stand by their classic finish that keeps their suits on everyone looking to splurge on a go-to beach look.

But for a limited time only you can get some of her best work for a fraction of the price, I'm talking less than a third of the original tag. Not a drill, but I am screaming. With this in mind, I'm sure to have at least three new suits locked and loaded for the vacation I haven't even planned yet because of how major this is. My personal pick from this brand would be the Brylee suit for the throwback one shoulder look with a new price that's over $120 less than the original.

5. Matte Brand
This brand is definitely the poster child for the sleek, simple, and sexy. From tops, to pants, to maxis you could throw on a Matte look and go straight to the grocery store and finish the night in the club, all while being the sexiest person in either place. While beautiful in every perfectly crafted promotional shoot, there's no justice done when these pieces come in the mail. And the latest FRAME collection is no exception. If there were sheets made out of this material I'd probably never make enough money to pay for a cup of noodles let alone a $120 matching set.
